Film Grant Application Criteria

FILM GRANT APPLICATION CRITERIA

Effective 12 June 2024

  • Funds will be allocated on a tier system, depending on the production scale, up to a maximum of $1000. In general, grants of $1000, $750, $500, and $250 will be given out.
  • The person applying for the grant must be a TSF Full Member and have a significant creative role, either Producer, Director or Writer. A minimum number (relative to the project size) of additional TSF Full Members involved is required.
  • All applications must be on the Film Grant application form.
  • A six-month stand-down from joining TSF to when you are eligible to apply for funding is required.
  • Reporting on the expenditure within one month of post-production is mandatory. We need to know where the money was spent, which includes a budget and receipts.
  • The funds are for expenses such as petrol vouchers, catering, location costs, costuming, equipment hire, makeup etc.
  • Members are not to pay themselves.
  • This grant is not for payment to the cast and crew.
  • Funding cannot be used to purchase equipment or software.
  • You are not eligible for another grant until your expenditure accountability has been completed.
  • Applicants applying for grants must enter their film in the Top of the South Film Festival and will include the TSF Logo in the credits of their film.
  • Applicants can apply for a maximum of two grants per year.
  • Any grant funds that are not accounted for or spent must be refunded to TSF within 30 days of production completion.
  • Applicants must sign a Letter of Acceptance agreeing to the terms therein before receiving their grant.
  • Decisions of the TSF Grants panel are final.
